Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using SnapCost ("the Service"), operated by BroCode Studio, a company registered in Portugal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.
2. Description of Service
SnapCost is a web-based expense tracking platform that allows you to upload invoices and receipts, automatically extract data using artificial intelligence, categorize expenses, track spending across multiple spaces, and generate financial summaries.
The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for personal and household expense tracking purposes only. SnapCost is not a financial advisor, accounting tool, or tax preparation service.
3. Account Registration
To use SnapCost, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by signing in through a supported authentication provider (such as Google).
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you upload.
You must not: use the Service to store or transmit content that violates any applicable law; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service; or use the Service on behalf of a third party without their consent.
5. Invoice Data & AI Processing
When you upload an invoice or receipt, SnapCost uses artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI) to extract relevant data such as amounts, dates, provider names, and billing periods. The content of your uploaded documents is sent to OpenAI's API for processing.
Uploaded files are stored securely in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase Storage). You retain full ownership of your data and can delete it at any time.
While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any extracted information. SnapCost is not liable for decisions made based on AI-processed data.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by BroCode Studio and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service.
You retain all rights to the data and documents you upload. By uploading content, you grant SnapCost a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you.
7. Payment Terms
SnapCost offers a free plan with limited features, as well as paid plans (Professional at €39/year, Power at €79/year). Paid subscriptions are billed annually through Stripe, our payment processor.
Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
8. Free Plan Limitations
The free plan includes limited monthly uploads, a single space, and 6 months of history. We reserve the right to modify free plan features at any time.
Free accounts that remain inactive for more than 12 months may be subject to data deletion after prior notice.
9. Termination & Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, all your personal data, uploaded documents, and expense records will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice. In the event of termination for cause, no refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period.
10. Limitation of Liability
SnapCost is an expense tracking tool for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional financial, accounting, or tax advice. You should not make financial decisions based solely on data provided by the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BroCode Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime beyond our control.
We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
